For Nonprofits

Do you want to use your web site to:

  • Build and maintain awareness of your organization and its cause?
  • Build and maintain your community?
  • Support fundraising efforts?

If so, then how are you inviting people to your website? Is your website content updated weekly? Do you connect with your customers and prospects on a weekly basis?

Engaging with supporters is the #1 reason that nonprofit organizations participate in social media. You can do it. We can help!

Why social media?

Nonprofits engaging in social media is no longer "just an option"; in fact, it's the norm. According to a study by the Center for Marketing Research at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2009, an overwhelming 97% of nonprofit organizations report using some social media tool, which includes blogs, podcasts, message boards, social networking, video blogging, and wikis. In addition, "Ninety-three percent of the charities studied have a Facebook profile, 87% have a Twitter presence and 65% have a blog."

Nonprofits use social media for a wide variety of reasons, from community building to advocacy to fundraising and recruitment. According to a 2010 survey by Ventureneer and Caliber, the three most dominant reasons for using social media are 1) to build and maintain awareness of the organization and its cause, 2) to build and maintain a community, and 3) to increase traffic to their website.
